It may fill some with hope and others with fear, but Google has apparently created an algorithm that can predict which employees are most likely to quit soon.

The best use of this technology should be the targeting of employees who feel like they’re being underutilized, that their talents and skills are going to waste. This is certainly one of the top reasons for employee attrition, if not the top reason. Employees and companies alike should benefit from recognizing an opportunity to make better use of all employees’ skills, talents, ideas and experiences.
Google has apparently been hit with a wave of employees leaving for other tech start-ups and potentially more nimble operations. Although, I find it humorous that a Google spokesperson spins that no “critical” employees have left the company. I’m sure the employees that have left the mother ship won’t take that jab personally.
The one piece of the article that bothers me is the term “human capital.” I firmly believe that this term should be eradicated.
To me, it’s equating people with office furniture.
